A New Discovery (iii). ‘The vessels appear to be so very delicate; I am taking great care not to cause any damage as I study them...'
 
This is an original sculpture comprising of a fragile handmade paper vessel, with inclusions of antique lace fragments. This contains a smaller vessel inside it that is made entirely of antique wedding veil lace. Another small single vessel of antique wedding veil lace with fragments of duck eggshell is displayed separately. Both are mounted on antique wooden bobbins and displayed within a handmade glass dome. At the base of the dome are scattered more of the delicate hydrangea petals that Clara picked from Cordelia’s beautiful walled garden. 
Clara said that she is so looking forward to the day the newly commissioned curio cabinets arrive: she will have the opportunity to arrange all the finds from the dig and display them to their very best advantage.
