'Inspired by her love of fantasy and folklore local artist Joy Norman presents a collection of her intriguing handmade paper works and assemblages. Spiky sea creatures and dragonets, fascinating fossils and fragile vessels are featured amongst this captivatingly curious display. Reminiscent of fossilised archaeological finds or ancient treasures
these objects evoke dreamlike memories of times gone by. Joy has developed her own mixed media style over the years using recycled papers, textiles, natural forms and a myriad of pre-loved ephemera which may then be combined with painting and stitch'.
I'm so pleased to say that I will be holding a solo show at the Sock Gallery, Loughborough from 13th June to 20th July 2024. I shall be displaying up to 40 pieces of work in this lovely light and airy space. Do drop by if you're in the area. I studied at Loughborough College, (as it was then), back in the day so I've always had a soft spot for this little town.
