I love experimenting with paper pulp to discover the vast ranges of textures and patterns I can work into its surface. I use such techniques as impressing, tearing, inlay, painting and stitching. My work is extremely labour-intensive as it is hand worked and meticulously painted and finished: attention to detail is paramount.

My fascination with fossil and ancient artefacts has given me an endless source of inspiration upon which to draw. I enjoy tearing and distressing my paper fragments to give them an appearance reminiscent of ancient archaeological finds or ancient treasures. I am also inspired by myths and legends, and love creating fish and fantasy creatures, with scales, spines and trailing tendrils.

I have work in both private and public collections, including Countesthorpe Community College, Countesthorpe, Leicestershire.

I am an Associate Member of the Design Factory, a Committee Member of the Leicestershire Embroiderers’ Guild, a member of the Tesserae Textile Group and the Hinckley and Bosworth Arts Network.
